Steve and I hooked up for our weekly dig. I didn't see a
bank thermometer, but it sure was crisp and cold. I am sure the ground will be
frozen before we know it!
We had a couple tunnel projects lined up. We picked the
one that felt the oldest and went for it. This one was under the garage and a
little deeper than normal. What a pain. It was tough laying on our sides
scooping out small shovels of dirt. To make a story short, there were a
few pontil slicks and some whole smooth base bottles including: Arnica Liniment
with and extra ghost "T", French Extract Rochester NY, Burnett's
Cocaine, Dr Jaynes, etc. There were a couple criers including a pint smooth base
scroll flask, Spensor's fruit jar, and a green master ink.
Not wanting to get into a another tunnel job, we moved
over to a different neighborhood. This place is owned by a coworker of
mine, Ryan. It didn't take long to find the pit along the back fence line and
the dig was on. Right off the bat, we ran into some ABM stuff, bunk whiskeys and
slick meds. Steve did manage to find a set of dentures! Nice! There were a lot
of bottles, nothing to fantastic. We found a bunch of light bulbs and 37 Franco
American bottles. Must have been some good stuff.

The next pit was in the corner. Somebody must have been
sick in that house. There were a ton of slick and embossed meds. We were hoping
for a soda or beer though. A couple times we got pumped up only to pull out a
blob that was unembossed. Steve found a statue of Jesus on one of his turns. You
have to wonder why he ended up in the crapper.

After we finished up this one, Steve found yet another pit. It was
getting to close to dark, and it was Sunday. I talked to the Ryan the owner, and
he said we were welcome to come back and open that one another day.
