I went with my brother Dan to Kenosha Sunday morning. He had permission to dig where they were building some habitat houses. We probed and found two pits right away. This area is on the edge of old so I figured it would be 1890's. The first bottles out were a couple of ketchups. Then some broken blob beers and clear jars. I pulled out a "HOMER'S CALIFORNIA GINGER BRANDY" Clear but embossed. We also found another whiskey cylinder that was embossed "GRANPA'S RYE WHISKEY" but the top was broke. We ended up with 8 "W.F.MARTIN hutches,3 A.TENNESEN beers a few local meds and some other odds and ends. The second pit was a small one with nothing good to speak of. We checked a couple other spots with no luck and decided to call it a day.
