9/25/04 I know everyone has been concerned if we are alright. Everything is fine. The absence of posts over the last few weeks is from a lack of digging on my part. I have been working. Steve did manage to get out but didn't come up with to much. Although, he did get into a pontil on Labor Day and get a couple nice bottles. Anyway, we started the morning out with nothing lined up. We probed an empty lot for the 100th time while waiting for the neighbors to get up. They told us to come back anytime. We decided to drive around for a bit. When we got back, one of them had left for work. I rang the doorbell on the other place. Nobody was home, dang the luck. We then changed neighborhoods and spotted Ray out on the road. He is the best owner we have ever dug with. He asked if there was anything else to dig in the yard. We had left a couple spots that didn't feel to promising when probed. With nothing else to go to this would have to do. The first hole produced four bottles. A couple Union Tea Company bottles and a couple Hien Fong Essence. The one Essence bottle was a little different. It had a scene embossed on it. A guy is working at a table. You can see a scale, bottles, distillation equipment, etc. On the bottom, it is embossed Hien Fong/ Essenz The next couple holes were just as bad. A wine bottle, broken Fred Miller beer, some plain pickles, and slick meds. We didn't have time to open another. We went down to the river to see if there was any easy pickings available down there. Lots of bank trash and shards, nothing whole. |
