9/28/03    Steve being the true bottle addict he is, got out this weekend. Believe me, if I wasn't needed at work, I would be right there with him.  Hopefully he was thinking of me while he was digging up all those juicy bottles!  I was waiting for his results. He emailed me this:

Hey Dave,
I went to Kenosha today to dig.My tree job got cancelled so I went about 8:00 I found two pits on the 1883 house. I ended up with 2 Indian sagwa's(with embossed Indian), 1 Pabst blob Kenosha branch, 1 certain cure for rheumatism, 1 broken soda (1870's) with the words "miner... Bernds & Mass..." and I could not find the rest of the bottle! The guy across the alley came out and I asked him if I could dig. He said o.k. I found a pit on the alley, a 6 footer I was hoping for older, tuned out to be about 2' wide and about 4' long. ended up with 1 Dr foords pectoral syrup,1 round bottom Ross's Belfast soda,1 Allen's lung balsam,1 amber beer from Toledo, and 1 Rustad 7 Waterman druggist Kenosha. I also ended up with the usual bunk.I had one crier! An amber" A. M. Binninger & co./No. 19 Broad ST N.Y/.London Dock/ Gin."

I hope he didn't forget our agreement. We made a pact that 20% of the haul would be mine during my absence. Looks like I did pretty good! Just kidding buddy, looks like you found some great stuff!
